After having revised the grammar points in this unit in moodle, here you have some more practise on the tenses studied.

She walks the dog every day. (Present Simple)

She is walking the dog now. (Present Continuous)

She walked the dog yesterday. (Past Simple)

She was walking the dog yesterday when she came across some friends.

Verb tenses and natural disasters

1-Past simple revision: when adding -ed to the base form, some verbs change their spelling: stop-stopped, study-studied.

2-The -ing form: some verbs change when adding -ing form: dance-dancing.

Exercise 1: Present Simple and Present Continuous

First read the text and fill in the gaps with the right form of the verb, then answer these questions:

  1. What is the main character doing?

  2. How does he feel?

  3. Where is he?

  4. Is he good at learning foreign languages?

Exercise 2: Past Simple and Past Continuous

Follow the same instructions as in activity 1.

  1. What did Angela do while her professor was lecturing?

  2. What were some students doing?

  3. Was Angela satisfied with the class?

  4. Did the professor see Angela making a phone call?
